The Gold Club

Life begins at 55!  This is a special group membership for people over 55yrs of age.  Gold Club members receive a discounted membership rate, and have classes run and tailored to the group three times a week.  They are also provided with a trainer to work with during other group times to ensure maximum engagement with the Gold Club members.

The importance of leading an active and healthy lifestyle is constantly highlighted by experts.  “It's important to remember that being active involves far more than avoiding conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis - it's about being able to be fit and healthy enough to engage in your communities, being able to get out and about and contribute,"

Research has shown that strengthening exercises are both safe and effective for women and men of all ages, including those who are not in perfect health. In fact, people with health concerns—including heart disease or arthritis—often benefit the most from an exercise program that includes lifting weights a few times each week.

Exercise is important for people of any age, but the benefits of maintaining a good level of health and fitness in older age are numerous – Reducing Falls, Arthritis Prevention., Strengthening of Bones and Improved Glucose Control.

Our oldest member “David” is 87 years old and comes in as regular as clockwork and says that he feels as good as he did when he was 50!

But much more than that, members of the Gold Club say they know it is good for them, but what they really like is the relaxed social feel of the group, and all going out for a coffee afterwards.
